Nail Polish Change - L'Oreal Paris Color Riche Collection Privée in 630 liya's nude

It's becoming my swan song on polish review day. My nails looked jacked all up folks. I'm sorry! I have a cuticle problem and perhaps one day I'll grow up and take better care of them. I'm trying! I promise.

Okay, it's week 6 of my 6 L'Oreal Paris Color Riche Collection Privée nail polish colors. Shhhh! Do you hear it? It's the sound of fireworks and horns blaring. I thought that reviewing 6 weeks of the same brand nail polishes should have been super easy and super fun but I discovered...it's not. It's a pain in the tuchus cause I have picked up about 12 new polishes that I would have loved to try in between. So, get ready for it folks! I'm about to show off some great colors!!

That's next week. This week was 630 liya's nude. The L'Oreal website says that Liya Kebede is an actress, model and internationally recognized designer. I've never heard of her but that doesn't mean she isn't popular. Her nude was the most un-nude of the entire line. It's a deep, muddy gray -- not what I would think a nude would be.

That being said, I really liked this color. I think it would be perfect for fall (October will see this color for sure!). It really a good match for my complexion and it's deep color was just a tad bit on the vampy side. I like that in a polish.

The formulation of the L'Oreal is the same as the others. After 4 or so days I start to see chipping. The tapered brush is nice and I only needed 2 coats (even though after that first coat I was beginning to worry).  The price point is fine but I'll probably reserve my polish money for other brands (unless it adds up to next to nuthin' with my coupons and BOGO and such.

I probably would be another L'Oreal Polish but not anytime soon.

And that concludes my tour of the L'Oreal Paris Color Riche Collection Privée nail polish colors. I enjoyed the hunt and I enjoyed trying the polishes. I also enjoyed wearing 2 of the 6 very much. I hope you enjoyed the international journey as well.

Nail Polish Change - L'Oreal Paris Color Riche Collection Privée in 610 eva's nude

My hands are healing (slowly) so my nails don't look as jacked up as they have the past few weeks. They aren't great but are getting better.

Anywho, it's week 5 of my 6 L'Oreal Paris Color Riche Collection Privée nail polish colors and I'm glad. I didn't realize what it meant to wear specific polish for six weeks; no deviation, from the script. I guess I'm just ready to try out all the other polishes that I've picked up. This week was 610 eva's nude. The Eva in eva's nude, of course, refers to Eva Longora of Desperate Housewives fame. Last week was 620 julianne's nude. I was very neutral about that one.

This color isn't much different in how I feel about it. This really is a nude for my complexion.  I like it but I don't love it. I think it's the perfect non color, color for me. It might work better for me if I weren't wearing clothing with bright colors. If I need a nude nail for a tan or white outfit, this would be my go to.

The formulation of the L'Oreal is the same as the others. After 4 or so days I start to see chipping. I did have chipping on my pointer finger first (after 24 hours). The tapered brush is nice and I only needed 2 coats.

If you are wondering about my accent finger, I am using the Maybelline Color Show Nail Lacquer in Bold Gold. I really like it as an accent color. It's a nice metallic gold that's not "pow, in your face." I can't see me using it on all my nails unless I use it as a base coat and add some sparkle or glitter or something.

BTW, did you see on my Instagram that this collection has FINALLY made it to my Rite Aid?! Geeze! I began searching 6 weeks ago and NOW we get them here in Atlanta. AND, I saw the lipsticks as well. Oh well. I guess I should be happy that we got them.

One polish to go folks. Aren't you excited? I know I am!!

Nail Polish Change - L'Oreal Paris Color Riche Collection Privée in 620 julianne's nude

Forgive me. My nails are still recovering from the fight with a pair of scissors. A few weeks ago I dropped a pair of scissors and instead of letting them hit the floor, I foolishly attempted to catch them and I unfortunately, succeeded -- in catching a pair of OPENED scissors with my finger tips. Sighhhh.

It's week 4 of my six L'Oreal Paris Color Riche Collection Privée nail polish colors. This week was 620 julianne's nude. Last week was 350 frieda's nude and I wasn't very impressed.

This week, I was ok with the color but I wasn't pleased with the formulation. Yes, you do see a chip on my pointer finger. If I had taken a picture of my other hand you'd see half the polish gone on my middle finger.

I've been trying to be nice about the chipping of this collection. This, however, was a bit much. I painted my nails one night and the next day, I wash my hair and presto chango! Two of my nails are chipped. I hadn't even typed or done any housework so I couldn't blame it on that.

Like I said, the color was ok. It reminded me of that color in the Crayola 64 box that you kinda avoided -- burnt sienna. It always reminded me of baby poo. So, this week I wore baby poo on my hands. LOL.

I have to admit, after 2 days I was ready to change polish. But, a deal is a deal -- one week.

I'm just ready for next week.

Nail Polish Change - L'Oreal Paris Color Riche Collection Privée in 350 frieda's nude

I must preface this post and ask that you excuse my hands. I had a fight with a pair and the scissors and the scissors won. I have several cuts and I lost some nail length (grrrr!).

This week is the 3rd week of my six L'Oreal Paris Color Riche Collection Privée nail polish colors. This week was 350 frieda's nude. (Yes, I know, lower case frieda. Sorry. It's the way the name is written on the bottle). Last week was 600 doutzen's nude and I really hated taking it off. It was very nice. I was hoping that frieda's nude would be just as delicious.

Well, frieda's nude was good, not as good, but good. It was named for Frieda Pinto, an Indian actress and model, most notably from the movies Slumdog Millionaire, You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger and Rise of the Planet of the Apes. Frieda's color is a metallic bronze nude. I'm not a big fan of metallic colors on my finger nails but this one was okay.

I wore the polish for 3 days before chipping occurred. Even then, it was minimal chipping. Remember, I type and work with my hands a lot so I give a little leeway to chipping. It didn't streak and I could have gotten away with 1 coat. I just wanted to see what 2 coats looked like. Well, 2 coats almost was too much. Next time, I'll go with one good coat and then add my top coat.

While this wasn't my favorite of the Color Riche Collection Privée nail colors, I won't push it to the back of the nail polish container or pass it to a friend. I can see me using this as an accent nail color or a toe color.

Nail Polish Change - L'Oreal Paris Color Riche Collection Privée in 600 doutzen's nude

Hey pretty people!

I am now on polish two of my six L'Oreal Paris Color Riche Collection Privée nail polish colors. This past week was 600 doutzen's nude. Last week I wore 370 jennifer's nude and wasn't all that excited about the color. I liked the formulation but the color didn't rock my world. This week...600 doutzen's nude...oh baby! I am loving this one to pieces!

doutzen's nude (yes, lowercase on purpose) refers to Dutch model/actress Doutzen Kroes. The lip and nail colors with her name are shades of warm pink. The lipstick is the barest hint of pink and the polish is a warm, milky cocoa color with a splash of pink thrown in. The formula itself is the same as last week. My nails didn't chip any quicker than any of the other L'Oreal polish. I like the brush. It makes staying in the lines easier -- trust me, I need this perk.

I am really enjoying this color. It will definitely stay in my rotation.

Nail Polish Change - L'Oreal Paris Color Riche Collection Privée in 370 jennifer's nude

Hey there!

So last week I made a big deal out of my six L'Oreal Paris Color Riche CollectionPrivée nail polish finds. I was so excited about this! I had just finished a week of my L'Oreal Nail Color in 320 Marvelous and I loved that color. I got a lot of complements. I was so happy with the L'Oreal nail colors that I could hardly stand myself when I finally decided to wear 370 jennifer's nude from my Privée collection. After painting my nails this past weekend, I think I came back down from the clouds.

jennifer (yes lowercase intended) refers to Jennifer Lopez. There is also a creamy lipstick in a "J Lo" color but it's not the same shade. The nail polish in 370 jennifer's nude is a muddy, brownie/grey mixed color. It's a decent color I suppose but I don't really like it against my skin. If I wear grey tones (as I did 2 days this week), then it's ok but anything else and the color is off. The formulation is a bit different than the previous week's L'Oreal Nail Color too. With 320 Marvelous I saw the greatness of the color after one coat. With 370 jennifer's nude, I got concerned after one coat. It was kind of streaky and I was really hoping a second coat would fix that. It did, if you don't look too closely.

The polish wore well during the week. I was very happy with that. I've mentioned before that I type a lot and work with my hands every day so most nail colors chip within a few days. jennifer's nude saw acceptable wear after 2 days but didn't chip for 4 days and the chips were minor ones. For me, that's pretty good.

I'll report back with a special nail polish review after I've worn all of the colors. This appears to be the darkest color so I think the rest of the colors will be a better fit for me.

Fingers crossed.
