Does it make scents?

Hey There!

I almost added all of these smell goods in my empties post yesterday. But, I figured that post was already too full. Besides, if you only wanted to read about one or the other, you could choose instead of read about everything.

But most of you want to read about them both, huh?

I am finishing up my Glade Plug-in scents. I mentioned a while back that I switched over to the Bath & Body Works wall flowers because they seem to have a better room throw than the Glade Plug-ins. I did have some plug-ins left, so I wanted to use them up. These are the Something Sweet Cotton Candy scent double pack. I love cotton candy scent but you have to be right next to the plug-in to smell them. Too bad because if they had a better room throw my entire house would smell like cotton candy 24-7.

Mentioning B&BW wall flowers, I have 2 empty wall flowers. I finished a Pineapple Mango and a Sunset Beach. Both are fantastic scents. Sunset Beach was fruity and sweet. I was expecting it to be more of a outside, sunshine smell. Instead it reminded me of a tropical drink. I've repurchased and I'm using the new Pineapple Mango one already. I actually have purchased quite a few wall flower scents. Bath & Body Works kept having sale after sale on them so I stocked up. That mean you will continue to see them.

I also finished a Bath & Body Works mini candle in Honolulu Sun. It smelled very fresh and clean. It burned well and I enjoyed it. I'd actually purchase the full size of this. When the next super sale comes along, I'll think about it.

And I finished a Yankee Candle Home Classics Sunsweet Melon candle. I purchased this one to decorate my bathroom. It sat in my bathroom for about 2 years before I began to burn it. That's probably why this wasn't a super strong scent. It was a nice, subtle melon scent. The only problem that I had is the same problem that I always have with Yankee Candles. The room throw is nonexistent. You have to be right up on their candles in order to smell them. I don't buy them anymore.

And that's what my house has been smelling like. I mentioned last month that my allergies have started to subside so I have been pulling my candles and smell goods back out. Get ready for the summer scents!

What had your house been smelling like?

Does it make scents - Plug Ins?

Hey There!

When you move into a new place you have that smell. You know -- that "new" smell. It smells like paint, cleaning supplies and just general unlived-ness. I like to come into my place and make it smell like a real home. So, I almost instantly, plug in some fragrance plugs.

The first fragrance plug in that I found were two of my Glade Something Sweet Plug-ins in the fragrance Cotton Candy. I plugged one of them in the dining room and another in the hallway. I left them for almost a full 24 hours and...

...it wasn't a strong throw. I loved the scent when I stood right next to the plug in but as I walked a few feet away, the scent began to dissipate. That is undesirable. It means that I need to plug up more of them to make my place smell good. And, it's not that big of a place! I life in a two bedroom apartment so you don't have that much space to throw your good smells to.

After a day of the Glade Plug-ins, I plugged in some Bath & Body Works Wallflower fragrance plugs. I used Pineapple Mango in the kitchen and Coconut Leaves in my bedroom. The kitchen fragrance plug in, is firmly tucked in the kitchen and the bedroom one is as you walk in the door.

My dining room and kitchen are connected and when you walk into the dining room, you smell the Pineapple Mango scent. It's not overpowering, it's just nice, sweet and pleasant. I smelled the light fragrance of Coconut Leaves when I woke up this morning. My bed is about 5 feet away from the fragrance plug in. It was such a nice smell to wake up to.

So, even though I really do love the cotton candy scent of the Glade Plug-ins, I prefer the throw of the Bath & Body Works Wallflower fragrance plugs. It does mean I'll spend a tiny but more but I think it will be worth it.

June Faves

Hey there!

I really had a hard time picking my June favorites. I tried so many things that I didn't really wasn't able to give things enough time to see if I loved them or not. If I say something is a fave, I really want to be able to stand behind it and show it love. So, while I liked quite a bit of stuff this month, here are a few things that I loved.

Have you been to Wal-Mart and tried the new Glade Something Sweet collection? I like to use plug-ins so I try new scents every now and then. Y'all know I love my cotton candy scents so when I saw the new Something Sweet - Cotton Candy plug in, I had to purchase it WITHOUT A COUPON! I don't pay full price often! This plug in smells so good! I have a plug in by the front door and one by the back door and between the two smells so delicious. I also take them to work (I mean I can't light a candle at work so this is the next best thing!).

I also have been loving the Bath & Body Works Watermelon Lemonade candle. I wish I had bought this one in a 3 wick. It smells sweet and sticky like lemonade tastes. I really love it.

When the kiddo was preparing for prom, I bought several inexpensive face powders to try for that night. She doesn't wear powder normally, so I didn't want to spend $25 on something that she'd wear once, maybe twice. I picked up the Black Radiance Pressed Powder in Honey Amber. It was a tad bit light for the kiddo so I put it in my drawer. Earlier this month I pulled it out and tried it for myself. It's a perfect match for my summer self. It controls shine well, wears beautifully and is almost as good as my MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation (I know, right?!). The Black Radiance was $4.19 compared to $27 for the MAC. MAC is great though. BR is a close second in my book.

I received a NYX Butter Gloss in Crème Brulee in my Ipsy bag this month. I already owned a ka-gillion others but it reminded me to pull these sweet smelling concoctions out of their drawer. These are the two that have been in my purse ALL month. Crème Brulee and Vanilla Cream Pie have stayed on my lips. As a matter of fact, in typing this post, I pulled out the Vanilla Cream Pie (sniffed it - you know you sniff these vanilla scented goodness glosses) and then coated my lips. It is all I can do not to sniff my lips all day. Really, if you haven't tried these, I need you to get $4.99 out of your wallet and go get one.

I just published a post about these nail treatments. The Revlon Treat and Boost and Sephora X Nail Hydrator are wonderful nail treatments. Totally worth the money spent.

I have also mentioned the BareMinerals 5 in 1 BB Advanced Performance Cream Eyeshadow. This eyeshadow/highlighter is wonderful and I have used it every day since I got it. I haven't given anything else a chance! It's the perfect accompaniment to my eyebrows, whether I have used a pencil/powder or not.

And last but not least, my e.l.f. Flawless Concealer Brush. This one is my clean one. I have 2 of these bad boys at all times. I looked back over my posts to see if I have touted the attributes of this wonderful brush -- I have not! That is a total slip up on my part! I used the brush to add my BareMinerals Well Rested Powder under my eyes most days. I then use it to add a hint of e.l.f. High Definition Undereye Setting Powder to the area. This brush is perfect for that area. The brush is soft enough to use in this delicate area yet no so flimsy that it doesn't put the powder in place.

What are you loving this month? What are you hating this month? What are you going to try to use up this month? Tell me what's going on!!
