Does it make scents?

Last month I talked to you about the Krispy Kreme candles that I found at the Dollar Tree (link here). I was super excited about them. Well, I've burned them all and there will NOT be a wedding.

First things first, they do burn 25 hours like they say they do. I burned one of them for 29 hours. It burned like a champ for 22 or so hours and then it began to burn dirty. They still burn well and they still smell ok but the original scent changes.

And the scents aren't bad. They do smell sweet, almost like the donuts they mimic. The only problem is that the room throw is very minimal. It only throws a few feet but it's a $1 candle. I'm perfectly okay with a $1 candle only throwing a few feet. What do you expect?! I'm super happy that they threw any good distance. Would I purchase them again? Probably not, but they were fun this time!

The next two candles that you see are Target candles that I was trying to use up. I had to burn them before I could pull out the fall candles. I burned a Marshmallow Pop and a Lemon Meringue candle.

The Marshmallow Pop was sweet and smelled so summery. The room throw was a bit off (I expect Target candles to throw very well) but it still smelled good. I don't know if I would purchase it again because there are so many other sweet, candy like scents that I prefer.

Lemon Meringue was weird. It smelled kinda sweet. There was no lemon scent. If I had to describe it, it did smell like what sugared meringue smells like. It smells great in the kitchen, not so great in a candle. The room throw wasn't good at all. Even though this one is a Target candle, I purchased it from Home Goods. That probably means it was discontinued from the Target line. Yeah, because this would not make my purchasing cut.

I also finished 3 Bath & Body works wall flowers. I know that one was Guava Colada and one was Watermelon Lemonade. I don't remember what the other one was. All of them were very nice and I enjoyed them. They are sweet and you know I like food scents. I don't know if I'd repurchase the Guava Colada but I know that I have repurchase the Watermelon Lemonade several times. The kiddo and I reach for them a lot.

Easy peasy, that's what my home has smelled like in the month of September -- sweet and delicious.

It's time to find out what my house smells like! Well, it's time to find out what it did smell like in the month of July. I didn't have too many new scents going on but they were great scents.

I have been loving my Bath & Body Works Wallflowers. I have purchased new wallflowers for new portions of the house (haul to come soon). I used three of them this month. I used a Watermelon Lemonade, Pineapple Mango and Coconut leaves. Watermelon Lemonade and Pineapple Mango are regulars for my house. I love those scents. Coconut leaves is new. I like it but I'll probably try some others next time.

I only burned one new candle and finished up an old candle. I tried out a Guava Colada mini candle in my bathroom. It was very nice. I loved the tropical smell and it made my tiny, little bathroom smell great but, it didn't really have great room throw. Maybe it was because it's a mini. But, for the room that I used it in, it was good. I'd purchase it again.

I finished a large Target candle - Sweet Spun Sugar. It is my favorite candle of life! I love this candle. I never get tired of this scent. It's like a burst of cotton candy. If you haven't sniffed this, you are making poor life decisions. Start making better one's today! Get to your local Target and pick up one of these.

I switched out a car scentportable this month. Remember that Watermelon Lemonade scent that I told you I liked? Well, that was what I was rocking in my car. And, yes -- my car smelled amazing -- For about 3 or so weeks. The website says it should last twice as long. Maybe you can get a 4th week out of it but I didn't get much more than that. I have several more so I'll test them for longevity too. No worries though. At $2.50 each (when you purchase 4 at a time), I'd still keep purchasing them.

Has your house smelled as good as my house this month? I know it sounds like a Bath and Body Works haul but have you tried any of these products? What do you think about them?

It's A Haul Y'all! - Bath and Body Works

Yeppers! I went to the Bath and Body Works and finished spending my birthday gift cards. My lovely friends know that I love some bath time smell good. And, well, some home smell good too!

I love the Bath and Body Works hand soaps. I've used others but they don't last as long and they certainly don't smell as great. I always wait until they are on sale and then stock up. This time I got all of my soaps for either $2.60 or $2.40. I had an extra 20% off! It's not the best sale that I've gone to but not bad and I was getting low. I try to pick up new fragrances when I go in. This time I picked up Island Margarita, Perfect Beach Day, Sunrise Sail and Island Pineapple.

I only picked up 1 shower gel and I only picked it up in the 3 oz. mini. I picked up Twilight Woods. It was on sale ($1.00) because the scent is being discontinued. It sells nice so I might pick up one more mini. Because I have a ridiculous amount of shower gels I won't pick up a full size.

Because I don't have enough candles in my life (just kidding), I got 2 of the mini's for $1.60. I wanted to try Guava Colada and Honolulu Sun. Spoiler alert -- Honolulu Sun smells so goooood! I like this mini's because it's like a try before you buy size.

And, the reason that I walked into Bath and Body Works was to grab the wallflower deals. With my coupon and the sale, they were only $2.40. I picked up Watermelon Lemonade (repurchase), Beautiful Day, Georgia Peach (repurchase), Sunset Beach and Kitchen Lemon. I recently did a post on why I've switched from Glad plugins to B&BW plugins. They have a great room throw and so many yummy scents to choose from.

So I didn't do too much damage. I think I didn't get too many miscellaneous items. I think it was ok. What do you think? Too much? Too little? And, ahem, what did you buy during the B&BW sale?

Bath & Body Works Candle Haul

 

I like candles. I like candles that smell really good. I like candles that smell really good that I get on sale. Bath & Body Works had a sale on candles. Guess what I purchased?!

Bath & Body Works sends an email almost every day and normally I ignore them. This time they sent an email and promised me $5 mason jar candles and a free $14.00 or less item. You know I high tailed it down there right after work.

I didn't go crazy this time. I had just purchased several mini's a few weeks before. I only got 5 candles (ONLY -- did you see that I actually used the work ONLY). I picked up Frosted Cupcake, Watermelon Lemonade, Coconut Leaves, Lemon Verbena and Garden Strawberry. Yes, I realize that they all reference food. Don't judge me!

My faves are Garden Strawberry and Coconut Leaves. OMG. Garden Strawberry is the best candle ever (well, you know). It smells so good. You think that there is a bowl of sweet, delicious strawberries nearby. And the Coconut Leaves candle smells like coconut and vanilla. That is such a wonderful scent as well. Takes me back to the beach every time.

Keeping with the food theme are my Watermelon Lemonade and Frosted Cupcake candles. Shut up -- Just shut up! These candles are ridiculous! The Watermelon Lemonade is a sweet, lemony scent that really does make you think of a glass of watermelon lemonade (and if you have not ever had a glass of watermelon lemonade, you need to find a restaurant that serves it and take a swig). Frosted Cupcake smells like a container of cupcake frosting and of course I know what that smells like! Haven't you eaten sweet frosting out of the container? That's not just me, I know that! It reminds me of Betty Crocker's vanilla frosting. Theirs (in my opinion) is a bit sweeter than the rest.

And last, but certainly not least is Lemon Verbena. I love this smell in general. There is something fresh about verbena and you mix in lemon, you have a scent that reminds you of a clean space. I have hand soaps, body wash, body soaps and other "clean products" that are in lemon verbena. Some people like the smell of Mr. Clean. I like the smell of Lemon Verbena.

And that's my candle haul. That's pretty good for a candle loving girl! I got out of the store for $25.
