Makeup Man Down!

Hey there!

Ok, I'm ready to talk about it now. It's taken me a month to deal with it and now, well now, I can talk to you about it.

I had a makeup causality during the move. I want to blame the movers but I probably packed it incorrectly.

It's more of a makeup sprain I guess but it hurts just the same.

My Betty-Lou Manizer broke.

Yes! Go ahead and cry with me! It broke. I mean, it didn't break into itty bitty tiny pieces never to be used again. It broke a small portion in the top part of the pan. I can totally keep using it but my feelings are hurt!

Have you ever used the Betty-Lou Manizer luminizing bronzer? It's the best. I use this as my "disco bronzer". When I'm going out and my face has to have a dewey glow, this is the bronzer I reach for. It gives a "Why yes, I have been dancing but this is a natural flush" look. If I am going out and sit by the pool or spend the day shopping with the ladies and want to look cute, I pop this on. It gives a great "Oh, no. No I am not wearing makeup. I just always have this sun kissed glow", glow. I wear this sucker out. That's why opening it to put it on and having it all fall out all over my bathroom counter was painful. It took the air out of my sails, I tell you.

But it's ok. I still have enough to keep my cheeks happy. Even though I've cried a bit, I have to be brave and strong. I still have enough to use.

And, it's just makeup. I shouldn't feel that strongly about broken face bronzer, right?

Ok, I take that back. I didn't mean it. I do feel strongly about it.

And if I can't use what I have, I'll just have to buy some more.

Physicians Formula Ultra-Nourishing Argan Oil Bronzer

Hey there!

I saw the Physicians Formula Ultra-Nourishing Argan Oil Bronzer in the July issue of Oprah magazine. It looks so pretty in the magazine. So, today on my shopping trip I decided to look into it and see if I needed to purchase it.

The $14.99 bronzer comes in two shades; light and regular. Both shades are have the 100% pure argan oil infused throughout. Because it's Physicians Formula, it's supposed to be non-comedogenic, hypoallergenic, paraben free and dermatologist approved. I'm trying to do better with my makeup and skin care products. Physicians Formula products fit the bill.

The packaging is gorgeous. Make no mistake, this is a very pretty powder. The design is beautiful and it would look amazing on your makeup stand. The bronzed powder has a golden design overlay and when you look at it, you can't wait to get it on your skin.

But, the cold, hard truth is, this is not going to work on my skin. I have a MAC NC42 complexion. This stuff is only for folks with a lighter complexion. The bronze won't do anything for my skin. I don't know that the sheen would do much either and I already have stuff to give my face a sheen.

It's really too bad because I wanted it. But, there's no way that I'm going to spend 15 bucks for shimmer and a pretty package.

No, I'll wait for the next pretty that Physicians Formula comes out with because they will come out with something else and I will be taking a look!

You Cheeky Thing!

Hey There!

I was getting ready to trade out face products for the next week or two and I realized that I hadn't told you good people what I've been wearing on my cheeks. I've been wearing the same blushes and bronzers for the last two weeks. The foursome has been really good for just meeting all of my face needs. I've gone from "no-makeup" makeup looks to work looks to night looks.

On my cheeks I've been going from my L'Oreal True Match Super Blendable Blush in Spiced Plum and my Milani Baked Blush in Corallina. The ability to go from soft pink to soft peach is a summer time must! I like the soft pink but I do have to admit it's not as fantastic as the soft peach. But, when you wear pink and red as much as I do, you don't want to finish it off with peach.

Before I smear blush on my cheeks, I begin with some "contour" from my bronzer. I put contour in quotes 'cause what I do probably isn't considered anything close to real contouring. I put some NYC Smooth Skin Bronzing Face Powder in Sunny or Tarte Park Ave Princess Bronzer on the hollows of my cheeks (cause it hides some of the dark spots on my face!!). I also drag it up near my temples to give a bit of summer glow. I use NYC Sunny for everyday and I use Park Ave Princess for night time use. TPAP is a tad bit glowey so it's nice for a nice out.

My lippies (as you have seen) have varied from day to day. My smell goods (as you will see) vary too. But, my cheek looks have remained the same for two weeks. Now it's time to change it up. Stay tuned for what I wear for the next week or two.
