You Cheeky Thing!

Hey There!

I was getting ready to trade out face products for the next week or two and I realized that I hadn't told you good people what I've been wearing on my cheeks. I've been wearing the same blushes and bronzers for the last two weeks. The foursome has been really good for just meeting all of my face needs. I've gone from "no-makeup" makeup looks to work looks to night looks.

On my cheeks I've been going from my L'Oreal True Match Super Blendable Blush in Spiced Plum and my Milani Baked Blush in Corallina. The ability to go from soft pink to soft peach is a summer time must! I like the soft pink but I do have to admit it's not as fantastic as the soft peach. But, when you wear pink and red as much as I do, you don't want to finish it off with peach.

Before I smear blush on my cheeks, I begin with some "contour" from my bronzer. I put contour in quotes 'cause what I do probably isn't considered anything close to real contouring. I put some NYC Smooth Skin Bronzing Face Powder in Sunny or Tarte Park Ave Princess Bronzer on the hollows of my cheeks (cause it hides some of the dark spots on my face!!). I also drag it up near my temples to give a bit of summer glow. I use NYC Sunny for everyday and I use Park Ave Princess for night time use. TPAP is a tad bit glowey so it's nice for a nice out.

My lippies (as you have seen) have varied from day to day. My smell goods (as you will see) vary too. But, my cheek looks have remained the same for two weeks. Now it's time to change it up. Stay tuned for what I wear for the next week or two.

Summer Blush

e.l.f., Milani, Sephora + Pantone

Hey There!

I'm a simple girl really. I don't need much especially when it comes to blush. I have several (does that just negate what I said?) but other that testing new ones out, this summer, I've only been reaching for three -- e.l.f. Pressed Mineral Blush in Wanderlust, Milani Baked Blush in Delizioso Pink and Sephora + Pantone Universe Rush Luster Cheek Sweep in Radiant Orchid.

The e.l.f. Wanderlust is a deeper rosy blush than you'd think of for summer but when I use just a little, it give my cheeks life! I use it at night when I'm meeting friends for dinner or going clubbing (ok, I don't go clubbing, but if I did, I'd wear this).

My Milani Delizioso Pink is a fresh pop of pink goodness. The smallest sweep over my cheeks gives me that fresh faced cutie look that I like. This is good for weekends when I'm not wearing a lot of makeup and just want some color on my cheeks.

Now I use my Sephora + Pantone Universe Rush Luster Cheek Sweep in Radiant Orchid almost every day that I'm not trying something new. I didn't think I'd be able to pull of that orchid but if you just use a little, you get a beautiful, warm plum glow. It brightens your face and works well with the harsh office light that I'm in all day. I use the heck outta this bad boy!

Swatched super heavy for the camera. I do NOT
wear my blush like this!!
I've learned that with blush (with most makeup really) a little works better than a lot. I just touch the apples of my cheeks and then spread the b;ush brush. I mean, there's more to it than that, but you know what I'm saying. I don't pile it on and I don't put it everywhere. Some days I use some highlighter underneath it, other days I just go free!

It doesn't matter what day I wear them, these colors are guaranteed to make me look alive, healthy and very pretty. You don't wear blush? I'm telling you, just a touch will change your whole face. Try it!!

Quickie Review - Milani Baked Blush

Hey there!

Yesterday I talked about one of the drugstore highlighters that I'm loving. Today I'm going to talk about a set of the drugstore blushes that I'm also currently loving.

I purchased Milani Baked Blush in Delizioso Pink a bit skeptically. It is a bright pink that I wasn't sure would work on my cheeks. I was worried that I'd look a bit clownish. Surprisingly, it does work well. It gives me a natural glow when used moderately. This blush is definitely a "dab will do ya" type blush. A heavy hand is too much but a light touch will give you a beautiful pop of color.

Luminoso is a warm peach blush. Nothing special, just a nice flush of warmth across the cheeks. Again, a light hand is the best hand.

My favorite of the three is Corallina. Corallina is a beautiful, deep peach, marbled with a pearlescent highlighter. Instead of a pop of color, it gives more of a glow to your cheeks. It's not the same glow that Luminoso gives. Corallina is soft with a red base. For me, it like not wearing blush, just a glow.

Colors have been swatched heavily for viewing -- not the amount to be used normally.
All of these colors are very nice. They are smooth going on but they can appear a bit ashy if applied to heavily (well, Corallina doesn't) but it's not bad if you use a light hand. They are bendable so if you do put on too much, blend away to your desired look. If these three don't appeal to you, Milani has several more that will. They are all around $9 or $10 and the drugstores always have a BOGO 1/2 off so you can get 2 for $15.

I've often wondered why everyone seems to have several blushes in their collection. This is why. All of these blushes work well and give your cheeks a healthy look but with a different purpose in mind. I think this is a great line if you want to have a selection of colors to play with. They are smooth and colorful and very forgiving.
