Summer Night Time Routine

Hey There!

Last night, before I could drift off to lala land, there were just a few things that I had to make sure were in place. I had to make sure that I took care of my nightly beauty routine so that I'd be fresh as a daisy the next morning. I don't overdo it at night. I just do a few things before bed.

First and foremost, I wash my face. I use my face wipes and then a cleanser, just to make sure everything comes off. Most of the time I have a simple makeup routine and the basic wipes work. But, you just want to make sure your face is clean and free from residue.

It's hot outside so I have officially changed over to my summer time, lighter moisturizer. I'm currently using Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisture for Sensitive skin. It's light and keeps my skin moisturized day and night. In the winter I go a bit heavier at night but now, I can tone the moisture down a little bit.

I'm still using my Caudalíe Eau De Beautie spray. I know it's expensive and I know that no one is 100% sure what magical fantastic-ness that it really does but I love it. It makes my skin feel good and it smells great and when I spritz it on, I know that it's time for bed. It's a mental thing just as much as a physical thing.

Next, I really am trying to be better about slathering on the lotion. If nothing else, I make sure that my feet and hands get moisturized. I'm currently loving (ok in love with) my H2O Targeted Care Softening Mint Foot Rub and my Jergens Original Scent Dry Skin Moisturizer. Tried and true products that haven't steered me wrong yet!

And you have to get your smooth, soft, sexy lips in order! I have an array of night time lippie moisture sticks that I can use but these 4 are my current loves. Maybelline Baby Lips Dr. Rescue in Just Peachy is really nice. But, after wearing it for a few weeks, I have to switch it up. Aquaphor is my jam! I will always have 17 tubes of this lying around the house. It is good for everything including lips!  I purchased the Rimmel London Keep Calm and Love lip balm a while ago. I'm really just trying to use it up. It doesn't bring much of anything to the party. And, the Softlips Sugar Plum Berry has been in my drawer for so long that any day now it's going to expire and end up in my big green tub of empties.

And that's what I do before diving in between my sheets. Many other things I've tried to add to the mix just don't make the cut but these steps are must dos. I always make sure to do these things or it's just not a good night.

And, I keep a big thing of water by the bed. You never know when you'll get thirsty!

Winterize Your Face

Hey There!

The groundhog here in Georgia said that we are in for an early Spring! But, my face still wants super moisturizing. So, I have to keep doing my winter skincare routine.

I don't think I told you what my winter skincare routine ended up being. I did mention that I was looking for a good moisturizer and I mentioned a little bit about some samples that I had tried. But, I don't think I told you how it netted out.

Believe it or not, L'Oreal did not sponsor this post in any way, shape or form. They just happen to make great skin care that agrees with my delicate face! I tried the L'Oreal Age Perfect Cell Renewal Day Cream in a sample packet and fell in love. So then I purchased a full sized sample size (I know, still not committing to the $20 price tag) of the day cream and night cream.

I really like this set. It's thick and rich and sinks into the skin beautifully. You only need a small amount to massage into your skin (yes, I massage it in -- what a wonderful way to get your moisturizer into your skin). It smells so fresh. There is a lightly perfumed smell, but it is very light. It's a nice, calming scent in my opinion. I moisturize it in and then wait about 2 - 3 minutes to let in sink in nicely.

But, before that (no, I didn't go in order. Why on earth would I do that?!) I use my Clinique All About Eyes Rich eye cream. You may or may not remember, I initially thought I was getting the gel formula but accidentally got the cream formula. Boy, that was a good slip up because the cream formula works so well. Do you see how much is left? Well, I purchased this about 10 months ago and I probably still have that much time left.  I checked online and you can use an eye cream for about 1 - 2 years if used properly. I always use clean hands and a fresh finger for each dip.

Right now I'm using my Boscia Cool Cleansing Oil as a complete makeup remover, after I do a quick twice over with a makeup remover wipe. I massage this in as well and wipe it off with a very warm towel. It's honestly like a spa in my bathroom every night.

And the last thing I do each night is slather on some Maybelline Baby Lips Dr Rescue in Just Peachy. I slather this stuff on all over (and outside the lines of) my lips. I wake up to soft, supple lips every morning!

That's what I've been doing this winter. I think it's working. I feel beautiful. I think, therefore I am, right? Right!

What's your winter skin care routine? Is it still cold where you are and are you still using it? Will those items transfer over when it warms up?

Boscia Makeup-Breakup Cool Cleansing Oil

Hey There!

Winter brings out my driest skin. I change over from body lotions to body creams. Static electricity follows me everywhere. My nose is always dry and I require a constant dose of hot beverages to keep me warm.

I also have to change the products that I use on my face. My normal face lotion and cleanser are put away and I have to pull out super emollient creams. I wasn't sure what to do about my cleanser so I kept using the same thing. And, I kept getting dry patches on my face. No one recommended anything that caught my attention, so I was confused as to what I should try.

When I was placing my Sephora VIB sale order, I needed to add about $7 to my order. I looked through some of the sale items but nothing jumped out at me. Then I looked through the skin care items and saw a tiny bottle of Boscia Makeup-Breakup Cool Cleansing Oil for $10. I did some quick research and saw that several people recommend it for dry skin. I thought I'd give it a try.

This stuff is so great. It smells of fresh herbs and a hint of mint or something. It's a thicker cleansing oil that warms in your hands and feels so good when you rub it onto your dry face. It's a facial massage every time you wash your face. It removes all of my makeup (concealer, primer, face powder, bronzer, blush, eye brow pencil) and leaves my skin feeling smooth and moist...not dry and tight! I love that. I feel like it's helping my moisturizer before I even get that far.

I purchased the 1.7 fl. oz for $10 but next time I plan to purchase the 5 oz for $28.

Has anyone else tried the Boscia Makeup-Breakup Cool Cleansing Oil? Do you recommend anything else in the Boscia line?
