February Faves

Happy March!

Can you believe it?! It's already March 2014! Is this year going to whiz by?

My favorites for February shouldn't really surprise you. I've probably gushed about these products all month. Because these are my loves for the month, I get to be a little dramatic (I know, what's new?).

I can't live without my Philosophy Purity Made Simple facial cleanser. Well, I can, but I don't want to. This stuff is amazing. It cleans off all of my makeup, gently, without burning my eyes or causing my skin to go blotchy. I've tried other cleansers and this one is ... my fave!

I discovered the Sonia Kashuk blush in spice this past month. Wow! Smooth and beautiful. The color is just a perfect match for me. The only time I let it go was when I had to try out new blushes. Otherwise, I was rockin' this!

My Revlon Photoready Bronzer in Bronzed and Chic is so oooh la la. I got so many complements on this bronzer, that I've made it my number one. I've been playing with others that I may have to switch to in the summer but for now, this is the one.

L'Oreal Paris Color Riche Collection Privée in 600 doutzen's nude has been my favorite nail polish this past month. The color is so beautiful. It reminds me of a warm, milky, peppermint cocoa color (what?? I like food so food analogies work for me!!). The formulation isn't A plus but it lasts long enough for my nails to look great!

Big shocker alert! I'm in love with Rimmel London lip liners and lipsticks. There were 2 days out of this month that I didn't use Rimmel London lip liners. And, you know I loved my RL lipsticks. They are so creamy and moist and last such a long time. I was glad Target had them on sale and even gladder that I had coupons.

And, once a week I coated my nails with Sally Hansen Insta-dry Top Coat. If you don't own this, you are making poor life choices (or, you just need to go get a bottle and see if for yourself). It is a wonderful top coat and after 3 - 5 minutes, your nails are dry to the touch. You can even blow your nose after 10 minutes!

So that's my faves for February. Will one of these make it to the March faves? It's possible. But, I have picked up some new stuff.

Stay tuned!

Wild Nails

I've spend the last 4 weeks using my L'Oreal Paris Color Riche Collection Privée nail polishes and I have enjoy trying them. But, I'm down to my last 2 weeks and I'll need something else to test out. Have no fear. Wet n Wild has had some coupons in the Sunday paper and I used most of them on nail polish.

Let me go back a few years (about 1986). My favorite color in the entire world was Wet n Wild 416A, a Pepto Bismol pink polish. I wore that color like it was going away soon. And then one day, it did. I was so unhappy! I wrote a letter to the company and told them about my love of 416A and guess what they did. Yep -- they sent me a box of 6 that lasted me through my bright pink phase. Because of that, I still use Wet n Wild polish.

Because I've used Wet n Wild nail polish so many times before, I know that I like the formulation of them so really, I'll just be seeing if I like the colors. And now that I look at my selection, I really didn't get a varied range. If you check the colors out, you know that they are my normal shades! I love warm colors on my nails and most of these are considered nudes. Luckily for me, Wet n Wild has a great range of colors, including nudes!

I picked up a nice sparkly fastdry polish in Party of Five Glitters. I know that will make a great accent nail polish. Add that on top of a color and you really do have a party.

I have a lot of the Wild Shine colors in my collection. I heard good things about the protective base coat so I picked one up and then also got the color Sparkled. Don't laugh, I actually picked up 2 of the color Sparkled! I have to take one back and exchange it. I guess I really liked that color, huh?!

I only have a few of the megalast salon nail colors so I was eager to add to what I have. I bought Undercover, Private Viewing and Bite the Bullet. I'm excited about those colors. I can't wait to show you what they look like. I already know that I'll go back and get more when the stores restock. I've been looking at Through The Grapevine, Wet Cement, Candylicious, Milk....you know how it is!

With a coupon, the first 3 were free and the last 3 were $.89. I would have purchased more but everyone had that coupon and so the selection was limited at the stores I visited. Do you find yourself trying new brands because you have a coupon (YES!!)? What coupons are you getting ready to use? Do you have a favorite color that you keep backups of?

International Envy - L'Oreal Paris Color Riche Collection Privée nail polish

I watch a lot of YouTube makeup videos and many of the folks that I enjoy watching are from places other than the continental US. I love watching them create an everyday face video or a glamorous night out look although sometimes I get a bit weepy when they tell me the products that they used. If they went to Superdrug or Browns department store, then 9 times out of 10, whatever they are wearing, I can’t get. I love a good haul but when they talk about a fantabulous lipstick or eyeliner that they picked up from Debenhams or a top from Asda I get sad. I know that I can order online and possibly pay premium shipping or I can pop over to the USA site but you don't always get the same product lines. Even Poundland has stuff that our Dollar Tree doesn't have and that makes me jealous! I don't want to be sad or jealous when I watch my friends across the water. So instead, I get International Envy.

I don’t think it’s a real condition but it should be. How many times have you been reading a blog and the person is using the eyeshadow quad that would be so perfect on you and it’s some company you've never hear of?! You Google it and it’s based in another country. Then you look it up on Amazon.com and Ebay.com and they sell them….for some outrageous amount plus shipping!!! Or, it is a company that we have in the US but that particular collection isn't one that they plan to show in the US.

That’s International Envy and I get it often.

The most recent time was when I was reading a blog and they mentioned one L'Oreal Paris Color Riche Collection Privée nail polish. The colors were so pretty! I had never seen it in my stores so I assumed they were the new spring colors. I began to research and I found out that L'Oreal Paris Color Riche Collection Privée is beautiful collection of 6 nail polishes and 6 lipsticks in a wonderful array of warm nudes that would be so perfect for my collection. They looked so creamy and so supple. I just had to have them!

I set out to see if my local drugstores had them. Why no, they did not! Perhaps it was too soon in the season for them and the blog post that I had read had been a teaser. I went back to the “World Wide Web” to see what was going on.

Turns out this collection is mainly European and I cannot readily get them here. I can seek out stores that got small numbers of certain colors (or pay $25 on ebay for a lipstick). There are a few stores (not very close to my house) that sell 4 of the polish colors but none of the lipsticks. NONE!

Thus, I now have International Envy.

It’s ok. I was relentless and hunted down the 6 colors and POW! BAM! I found the polish! A Walgreens about 30 minutes from my house had them (and not many of them). I hightailed it over there, in rush hour traffic -- FRIDAY rush hour traffic. Guess what?!

I am International!

Well, in my head I'm International. I do have International nail polish though.

And that makes it all worthwhile.

I am so excited to use these colors. I want to wear them all at one time. But that's crazy!

Right! Right??
