Empties!

Hey there!

Let's change it up a bit this month. I normally start with the bath stuff. Let's go with something else first!

I finished a pack of face wipes. I used the Trader Joe's Micellar Cleanser & Makeup Remover ($3.99). I've been trying new face wipes because I want to use products that are better for me on my skin. I don't think this is it though. It removed the makeup that I wore but I felt like it left a residue that I had to get off of my face. I also finished another tube of Clobetasol Propionate. I have seborrheic dermatitis and this helps. I tossed these Goody Skinny Bobby Pins (actually, I took them to work). They didn't work and I was disappointed. I also finished a Lush sample of Vanishing Cream. Nothing vanished.

I washed my hair. You can congratulate me later. I finished a Hydrating Macadamia Oil Shampoo & Conditioner (BOGO - 2/$7.99) and a Moroccan Argan Oil Shampoo from OGX. I love the OGX products. I am out of shampoo so I took the opportunity to buy a huge container of Nioxin Shampoo  (and a small container of conditioner). My hairdresser recommended #4 for the kiddo and myself. I'll let you know how it works.

I moisturized my feet and hands this month. I used up a small Aveda Foot Relief. I used to have this as my holy grail foot lotion but I'm not rich. I can't spend the money on it. I've been branching out. I also finished a Dial 7 Day Moisturizing Lotion. It was a sample from one of my Walmart Boxes. I liked it a lot. It was very moisturizing.

You know what you don't see in my bath products? Avon products. I used up all the ones I had and I'm not sure that I want to purchase more of them. There are so many more products to try out and I have a lot of bath products that I need to finish. For instance, I used up an Equate Body Wash in Tranquil Dusk ($2.88). It smelled nice and lathered well. I finished 2 Bath & Body Works minis. I finished a Twilight Woods and a Japanese Blossom. Both of them were very nice, lathered well and worth another purchase.

I got a Caress Fine Fragrances shower gel in Love Forever. It was ok, nothing to write home about. It has a lot of color added and I was scared that it would stain my towels. It didn't but there wasn't a lot of lather and was heavily perfumed. Not worth the purchase in my book. I also finished a Lush Space Girl bath bomb ($5.25). It made the bath water purple and it smelled good. Unfortunately, I forgot to write down what it smelled like! But it was good. Worth buying it again.

That's what has been sitting in the green tub this month. Nothing too crazy. What did you use up this month? Do you plan on buying it again?

Quickie Review - H2O Softening Mint Foot Rub

Hey There!

I take foot care seriously (when it's time to whip out the sandals). For years I used Aveda's foot care relief. I loved the peppermint smell and the way it healed my feet after just a few days. My only problem is that it has gotten sooooo expensive. 4.2 fl oz is $24. I really love this but man! That price is just too much for a foot cream. I was certain that I could find something that was equal for a better price. I was bound and determined to find a new foot cream.

Hold on to your seats girlies! I found one!! One of my YouTube lovelies talked about the H2O hand and nail scrub and how fantabulous it was for your hand and nails. So, I went to T.J. Maxx in search of it. I did find that hand and nail scrub but I also found the mint foot rub by H2O.

I didn't get excited right away because I've tried many foot creams this year and after a week or two, was just very disappointed. I didn't want to jump the gun and fall in love only to get heartbroken (or foot broken in this case) again.

I waited this time. I wore it for several weeks before trusting it. We've been dating for almost two months now AND I've purchased a backup one!

Yep, H2O's Targeted Care Softening Mint Foot Rub has reached favorite status. It's not holy grail yet (we've only been dating for two months!) but it's a constant companion. I don't have jacked up feet but because hate shoes and go barefoot a lot, I feel that I always need to moisturize my feet more than normal. This does the trick!

I do have to put it on and then not walk on the floor for about 5 - 10 minutes. But, that gives me an excuse to yell for the kiddo to do stuff for me. The wait does case problems because I always feel the need to wash my hands immediately. You don't want to rub your eye with this stuff on your hands. TRUST me. Learn from my mistakes people! Other than those 2 things, there aren't any downsides!

And, the best thing -- T.J. Maxx has this at $1.99 for 2 oz! That's an 80% savings! You gotta be crazy to pass this up! Full price at Kohl's is $4.00! I give this a 9 outta 10 minty stars. You will certainly be seeing this in some empties blogs.

What are you using? Do you love it? Are you going to marry it?

Empties!

Hey there!

September is gone! I'm not sure where it went but it sure went fast. And now, it's time to show you what I used up this month as I walk towards the trash can.

Starting in the bathroom, the tub actually, I used up another AVON Bubble Bath (Coconut Water - 2 for $10) and a Target Up & Up brand body wash (Radiant Body Wash in Peach Extract and Silk $2.59). I like both brands. The Coconut Water Bubble Bath was ok but I'm not sure that I'll buy another one. The Peach Extract body wash was nice and creamy just as good as the Caress Brand. I will continue to purchase this one.

While in the tub a girl tends to shave her legs and (excuse my non-delicate nature here) pits. I mentioned a few weeks ago that I tried some cheapo reapo Dollar Tree razors ($1 for 5) and hated them. That means I have 5 razors that I need to trash. Bye Bye. I will NEVA purchase these again.

Deodorant - Secret brand in Powder Fresh. I buy them at Sam's Club, 4 for $7 or something like that or I use coupons at Target or Wal-Mart. Anywhosie, it's the only deodorant I wear because my underarms tell on me if I don't.

I'm tossing 3 bareMinerals products because they are old as heck and probably smell bad. I love my bareMinerals products and will always repurchase them but perhaps this time I won't go all ham and buy the big mamma jamma sizes! I put a good dent in the ORIGINAL SPF 15 foundation ($27). I probably only had 1/3 left. I only used half of the READY SPF 20 pressed powder Foundation ($29) and I might have used half of the tinted Balance & Boost Mineral Veil (purchased during a QVC special, so not sure of the price) -- maybe.

I need a moment of silence here. My favorite foot cream has been the Aveda Foot Relief cream for years. I love the smell, I love the feel, I love what it does for my feet. I don't love the price - $24. I have to give a bit of a spoiler here folks. I have tried other foot creams and so far they are only so-so. If I don't find something amazing soon, I'm going to have to borrow $24 from one of you and get this! And, by borrow I mean have with no intention of giving it back.

I got a Befine food skin care daily moisturizer ($24)  in an Ipsy bag and I don't like it. I tried it for a while and then decided that it wasn't any good. No need to keep it.

I picked up a Lush Bubble Gum Lip Scrub ($9.95) about a year ago. I gave some of it to my sister, shared with a friend and I still ended up with most of this left. I bought it to scrub the dead skin off my lips. I used it a few times and then realized, I don't have dead skin on my lips. I wear Baby Lips on my lips every night and it seems to do the trick. This is a nice product but I probably won't purchase it again.

I finally had to ditch my sample of Smashbox Photo Finish Luminizing Foundation Primer ($38). I wasn't a fan so I didn't use it that often and when I went to try it again, it was dried out. No worries. I don't think I missed anything. Not sure that I'd buy it.

I also had to let go of a Revlon Treat & Boost nail polish. I really liked it. It was great as a base coat on my nails. I don't know that it was magical or anything but it was nice. I bought it during the super CVS sale in the spring so I'm not sure what the cost is now. And, it may be discontinued. No worries. There are plenty of really good base coats out there.

Random - Clobetasol Propionate. My scalp needs extra help. I have to have this very month. I get it from my doctor's office.

And that's what's getting tossed in the bin this moment. I hope you enjoyed going through my trash. What did you finish this month that you loved? What did you finished that you didn't like?

Bielenda Happy Feet Foot and Heel Cream

Hey There!

My holy grail (HG) foot lotion just went into the empties container and I was sad. For years I have been using Aveda's Foot Relief cream but the price kept creeping up and now it's $24 for 4.2 oz. I can't pay that for foot cream...not until I have tried others and see if anything can match my HG.

So I ran to the stores to check it out. I picked up a few foot creams and lotions and started testing. I found Bielenda Happy Feet Foot and Heel Cream at Ross. It was $2.99 for 5.9 oz, waaaaaay cheaper than the Aveda Foot Relief. It's supposed to soften calloused skin and brings relief to my cracked hills.

This is oiler than my Aveda so you have to rub it in really well and then wait a bit before you go walking on floors and slip and bust your head open. My first impression was that I didn't care for it because of the fact that I had to wait to walk. Then, a few days later, I took a look at the bottom of my feet and noticed that this stuff was doin' the durn thing! I was pretty amazed that it was doing so well. I mean we just talked about cheap razors so I was concerned that I was going to talk about cheap foot lotion. But, no my friends not this time.

I don't want to talk about what's in this (urea) because it could gross you out. But if I don't get the proper care for the bottom of my feet, that could gross you out too and I don't eat with my feet or anything so a little grossness on my feet is ok, as long as it works. This works.

I'm going to keep trying this for a while longer before moving on to the next foot product. It's not as good as my HG foot cream but it is decent. The verdict is still out on if I'd buy it again.

It depends on if I find anything better.

Isn't that what we are all doing folks -- chasing the next best cosmetic thing?

What foot cream are you currently using or did you just give up and put on tennis shoes?
