WHAT I WORE - This Week In Face

My face products don't vary much. I always use a powder, bronzer, blush and a lippie. It keeps it simple. I said this week, but this has actually been my face for the last two weeks!

I love my MAC Studio Fix in NC42. 

That's not a surprise. I've been using 2 bronzers this month. I've been using my NYC Smooth Skin Bronzing Face Powder in Sunny (cult fave) and my e.l.f. Glow in Bronzed. Sunny has been my everyday bronzer and Bronzed has been my "let's go out" bronzer. I'm sad to say that haven't used my "let's go out" bronzer nearly as much as I'd like.

My cheeks have been simple. I've been using my NYC Color Wheel Mosaic Face Powder in Pink Cheek Glow. It's a soft pink color for me. Just a hint of color really. And when I need more color, I've used my Sonia Kashuk blush in Spice. This one is more of a deeper pink. You just need the smallest amount!

I mentioned going out and when you go out, you need a highlighter! I also gave my coworkers a treat during the week and wore my e.l.f. Baked Highlighter in Pink Diamonds. Careful! This is a BAM! highlighter and looks great. Just a touch!

My lips will amaze you. I have used 1 lipstick for two weeks. ONE!!! My Revlon Superlustrous Lipstick in Blushing Nude has been my bae (did I just type that?!). I have been loving this beautiful warm brown with a hint of pink. It's such a versatile color and I could just wear it every day (and I did!).

I mixed it up with some lip glosses. The mix and match ability of these were fantastic! I wore my new Milani Lip Gloss (with no name, so brown) and my NYX Butter Glosses in Angel Food Cake and Strawberry Parfait. My Butter Glosses are always in my purse. I love them. They smell good and the jazz up any lip color or work well alone.

So that's been my face for 2 weeks. There have been minor exceptions (link here) but this has been my face uniform. I prepare my makeup for the week on Sunday, so I should have new face colors at the end of this week (or next few weeks). Stay tuned!

Lippie Love - Dynamic Duos

You know, my #DynamicDuos for this past month are kinda random. I'd love to tell you that I went all sheer and lovely but because I've been essentially shopping my stash, as I found fantastic lippies, I wore them.

My soft peach lips were created with my Revlon Superlustrious Lipstick in Rose Dew and NYC Liquid Lipshine in Nude York City. The NYC Liquid Lipshine is one of the glosses that I found at the Dollar Tree. One of the best dollars that I have ever spent! This duo is so peachy and smooth. It's a bit shimmery and sheer but it's perfect for those "no makeup" makeup days.

For days that I'm feeling berry-ish, I have a berry duo that I have been reaching for. My Sephora Rouge lip color in Sexy Game topped with NYC Liquid Lipshine in Midtown Mulberry is perfect. It's a plummy, berry color that gives just that touch of color you need for spring days. I have to admit the sweet smell that the NYC Liquid Lipshines give off, adds to the love. You can sheer this duo out or add a few more swipes for a more opaque look. Either one works so well.

Wanna bring the color back down? Maybe a warm nude? Your lips but better? MAC Lustre in Plumful and NYX Butter Gloss in Angel Food Cake is what you're looking for. Yes, you've heard me talk about this #DynamicDuo before. This is a go to for me. It's tough not to pull this out all the time. I want to give other lippie combos some love but this one works so well, I hate to put it down.

I've been playing with other duos this past month but these duos have really made the cut. I've enjoyed them and they work like a charm every time.

The Jewelry and Makeup That You Pack Last

I had to pack everything away BUT I wanted to keep out my favorite jewelry pieces and makeup in case I need to make a run to the store or a quick restaurant break because all of the pots and pans have been packed up. (In case you're new, I'm moving. If you're not, I'm sorry that I keep saying it!). It was very easy for me to decide what to keep out because my favorite jewelry pieces and makeup items are my most used.

First the jewelry. I love earrings and rings so picking one item sounds difficult but in fact, it was pretty simple. My favorite earrings are my silver hoops. They are light enough for everyday use but nice enough to dress up a pair of jeans and a top. I got these earrings from the apparel mart in downtown Atlanta. There are several jewelry stores in there that have amazing pieces and ever better prices.

My necklace is a no-brainer. Two years ago the kiddo bought me an "I Love You" locket. It has a heart shape with a small, pink rose engraved on the side. It's just a petite thing but it sits at just the right spot on my neck. It's not long but it's perfect. It's my favorite necklace and I wear it a lot.

Because I'm packing and moving boxes, wearing a ring or bracelet is out. Oddly enough, I packed those boxes last. I only wear rings for a few hours a day because after that, it begins to get uncomfortable. And, I have a fear that my bracelet will get snagged on something so I wear them when I won't be doing a lot with my hands. Needless to say, I didn't keep any of those out.

Makeup is super minimal. While I'd like to look cute for the movers, you know, just in case, I'm sure I'll be sweaty and not in the mood to flirt. So, in case I have to make a pizza run I keep out the standbys.

I love my MAC Studio Fix face powder in NC42. It's just a tad bit deeper than my current color but my shoulders have some color so it's ok. I probably won't need it but it's at the ready just in case.

No lipstick for this girl. I have my NYX Butter Gloss in Angel Food Cake. It smells so good and lasts a long time. It is just enough gloss for leaving the house. I have to run to Home Depot so I'll pop just a little bit on so that I can appear presentable to the world.

There are two implements that I've never be without. My trusty tweezers and my nail clippers. This girl has 1 or 2 hairs that magically appear so I have to have tweezers at the ready at ALL times. I've mentioned before that I have tweezers everywhere -- in my car, at my desk, in my purse, next to my bed... You never know when you'll need them. I find that stoplights about 4pm are the best time to see wild hairs and pluck them. Don't say ewww to me. Now you plan on stealing my idea, huh?!

Don't laugh at my nail clippers. I know they looked all jacked up but they are sharp as I don't know what! They are a Bassett USA brand that I've had forever and they work so well. I use them for hangnails, clipping your nails, etc. Yes, I have newer, prettier ones but these work the best. I'd love to get a new one but I can't seem to find a really good pair. Let me know if you see any.

And all of those items are riding in my pink faux snake skin Mally bag. I got this over a year ago when I made a purchase online. I can't tell you were the products are (well, one of them I can) but this bag is my everyday makeup bag. If I put on a lippie or special blush, it goes into this bag and on to work with me. I'm almost never without this bag. It's the perfect size and so durable.

And that is what get on the moving van last (well, in my car as the moving van pulls off). What items can you just not live without?

Lippie Love - Recent Combos

I've been loving this lip trio this month. Because I've been sorting through items and packing some of them, I've been finding lippies that I forgot all about. Pretty lippies that simply haven't gotten any love in quite a while. Packing my makeup has been pretty good though. It's been a great way to shop my stash. 

I've been matching my Revlon Super Lustrous Crème lipstick in 660 Berry Haute with my Rimmel London Exaggerate Full Color Lip Liner in 57 Ravish and topping it all with my NYX Butter Gloss in Angel Food Cake. As the girls my daughter's age would say, "They give me life!"

Revlon makes the best drugstore lipsticks in life. I mean I own 10 of the Super Lustrous Crème lipsticks and they all are amazing. They last 6 full hours (and then I eat lunch). I can drink coffee all morning and it's still there. And they are so moist. I never have to add lip balm midway through the morning. They are winners.

Don't sleep on Rimmel London Exaggerate Full Color Lip Liners. The colors that they make rival MAC, MUFE and Sephora brand. They last a good, long, while and they are creamy and go on smoothly. You can make them into a lipstick base or add some gloss on top and keep it moving. And they are cheap. I bought all of mine when they were BOGO half price and I used a coupon!

And hun-tee! I don't have to tell you about NYX Butter Glosses. If you don't own six of them right now, I do not want to be your friend! They are fantastic and the sweet vanilla smell is the best. I love that smell. They have every color under the rainbow and you can get them for $4.99 - $5.99. And don't let Ulta have a sale! You can use your $3.50 off of $10.00 purchase too! You can use them as a topper or on their own. I always have a Butter Gloss in my purse. It wouldn't be right not too.

And I know, looking at these three together, you don't even see how they match. They do! I promise you they do. When you mix them all together, you get a big ole batch of that's the shiz-nit! Ahhhhh!

Yep, I have been wearing this combo a lot. It has just stayed in my purse because there was no reason to take them out.

Jordana Modern Matte lipstick

Jordana came out with their Modern Matte lipstick line and I, of course, needed to check it out. I mean, I love their lip liners and their Best Lash mascara is truly the best mascara out there (in my opinion). Why wouldn't their lipsticks be great?!

I picked up 2 because the third one was sold out . I purchased Matte Bare and Matte Classy. Matte Frappuccino was one I wanted to try but they had sold out. 

The display was pretty and showed off the 12 that they have in the line. It was a nice array of colors but I wanted to stick with the nudes. 

These lippies go on smooth with a dab of lip balm underneath. I wear lip balm under all lipsticks. There wasn't any tugging at all. The colors I chose were nicely pigmented and they lasted several hours. They wore comfortably and didn't dry out my lips. I tried both of them alone and with a NYX Butter Gloss (Angel Food Cake) over them. The nice thing was that once the gloss wore off, the color was still pretty. 

These lippies were $2.49 each. I know that because of Jordana's price point people assume it's an inferior product. Oh contrair mon frere! Jordana products are VERY good. The lower prices simply allow me to try more of their products. Remember, I have returned some very high end lipsticks because I felt they were too uncomfortable to wear. 

But I digress. Now that I have tried these 2 and like them so much, I will definitely go back and get the third one.
